the word 'catharsis' fits in well with this nostalgic haiku. Nice one Warren...

Both my wife and I like to watch the old movies, 40ish film noir, or British movies on TV - a relaxing sort of thing to do. Thanks for stopping by, Frank!

I prefer old movies to newer ones.
The endings are more often just right leaving the audience with a feeling that this is how it had to be. Your haiku captures that feeling.

Hi Adelaide - You have it so right - endings do leave the viewer with a feeling that things are right with the world. You never know in a modern film just how you will feel after viewing it - usually a little despondent, huh?

Thanks,

Warren

i agree the movie ending leaves a taste in the mind, and viewers of that movie era hanker a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the movie;
its brilliant that you captured this in haiku

much love...

Hi Gillena - Yep, the older movies were somewhat predictable in that they left the viewer feeling good that the outcome was good as well. Modern movies are a lot less predictable, and for me a little predictability is a good thing.
