A few haiku

the butterfly
wanders where it will –
wheelchair path

dark mood —
a butterfly lifts me
into the light

on the grass where
the dappled fawn had lain –
dappled sunlight

I especially like the first one, the contrast between freedom of movement and lack of it and the ability of this haiku to capture that without saying anything about it.

Thank you, Adelaide - Yes, I feel that contrast more and more as the old body gets weaker and weaker. Thankfully the mind is still relatively young.

Thank you, Gillena!
